The „punch" (is it really called punch? Dunno, I mean the way you hit the strings)
is a bit tricky, I play it like this:
 
D / U u D		<- which means: 	d = down eigth 	D = down quarter
					        u = Up eigth	U = Up quarter
						/ = mute
 
Quarter or eigth means the length of the note.
and in my opinion it sounds pretty right...
