In his quintet dating from 1993 Heinio draws on Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking-Glass. The musicians performing this work are offered a touch of physical drama. As they play they are expected to speak and hum fragments from Carroll's book going through the dialogue between Alice, Tweedledum and Tweedledee. this adds its own rhythmic and dramatic perspective to the exciting music. The work was premiered at the Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival in summer 1994.
