This is a fresh and exciting setting of the Stephen Foster classic set as a medium-up-tempo jazz waltz and featuring either a separate solo Tenor Sax or Tenor Sax 1, with the option to instead feature a separate solo Trombone or Trombone 3. Trumpets use flugels during the middle of the piece. The opening is a gradual build starting with a piano or guitar solo and building to a peak into the open solo section.
