With the performance of this and other works at a concert promoting his music, Schubert reached the zenith of his popularity in a career which was tragically cut short only a little while later. Mr. Sauer has beautifully transcribed this work in the key of E-flat. original key of E major. for Trombone, Horn & Piano. The Trombone performs the Tenor voice part of the trio. The lyrics of the poem, written by Ludwig Rellstab have been included with the score to better allow the performers an understanding of soul of the work.
