The text, known by its Latin name Angularis fundamentum , comprises the stanzas 5 throuh 8 plus the Doxology of J.M. Neale's translation of Urbs beata Jerusalem. The tune is St. Thomas. Wade. , after John Francis Wade. 1711-1786. , as found in Hymns Ancient and Modern. 1866. , but provided here with a new harmonization with two descants for soprano voices. These two descants are sung, separately, on stanzas 2 & 3, then together for the final stanza and Doxology.
